It is certain, the great world rock legend Glenn Hughes is coming to Dimitrovgrad on May 9, 2007, for the one-day music festival “Peace Fest”. The concert is organized by the Municipality Dimitrovgrad and it will take place on the stadium in the center “Park”. Glenn Hughes was born on August 21, 1952 in Cannock, Strafford shire, England. He is also known as the “Voice of the rock”, he was a bass player and a vocalist of the British funk-rock band Finders Keepers 1960. The celebrity period for Glenn has begun when he joined the Deep Purple between 1973 and 1976 as a bass player and a partner of David Coverdell. In the mid eighties he became the vocalist of the legendary Black Sabbath. |
After leaving the Deep Purple in 1976, despite of all ups and downs he released his firs solo album “Play Me Out” recorded with the help of the former drummer Judas Priest Dave Holland and a Canadian guitarist Pat Traverse. Six years later, in 1982, he released the second project “Voice of the Rock“, this time with the guitarist Pat Thrall who played in the Asia band in the beginning in the beginning of the 90es.
Eighties were very significant years for Glenn, first he took part in the project "Phenomena" and "Phenomena II: Dream Runner", he worked with Gary Moore ("Run For Cover") and Black Sabbath ("Seventh Star”).
He get away from the scene but only temporarily. Few years later he returned with the big hit " America: What Time is Love?”
With the album "Soul Mover" he has begun the great world tour and in 2005 he released the album "Seventh Star" this time under the name Tony Iommi & Glenn Hughes.
In the summer of 2006 the last Hughes’ album appeared on the music scene for now still a studio album "Music for the Divine" which was made in cooperation with John Frusciante, a long time friend, Red Hot Chilly Peppers guitarist. This album is the reason for a European tour, part of which he will be a guest in Dimitrovgrad.
